With time running out for earning 2025 IAR CE credit, here are some important updates and reminders for IA reps about meeting the NASAA 2025 IAR CE requirements.  

What's The NASAA 2025 IAR CE Deadline? 

According to a memo distributed by NASAA October 3, Advisors4Advisors can upload IARCE credits for 2025 transcripts to FinPro until 4 p.m. EST on December 26, 2025. This is not meant to suggest waiting until December 26 to complete NASAA 2025 IAR CE requirements. But it does let you know not to panic if you need to catch up on 2025 iAR CE.

NASAA 2025 IAR CE Ethics Classes 

 IAR CE Ethics credits are often the hardest classes to find. That’s because product manufacturers are happy to sponsor classes educating IARs about their products and strategies for using them and much less interested in sponsoring ethics and professional responsibility topics, which  explicitly prohibit promoting anything but ethical behavior.       

NASAA 2025 IAR CE Ethics Programs  

Advisors4Advisors provides eight NASAA 2025 IAR CE Ethics Programs. IA reps are required to earn six credits, and at least three of those must be about Ethics and not professional responsibility. In addition, about 20 more classes on Advisors4Advisors are approved by NASAA for 2025 CE credit in the Practice and Products category. 

To find the 2025 Ethics classes, and 2026 Ethics classes as they become available, click on "All Classes" on the Home page and then on Ethics IAR CE. Note that there are two pages of IAR CE classes approved for 2025.   

Missing NASAA 2025 IAR CE Credits

If you check your NASAA transcript in FinPro and are missing classes that you completed on Advisors4Advisors, please check your Advisors4Advisors account profile to be sure you entered your CRD number correctly. It's a little tricky, especially if you look past the instructions. 

Users all too often do not precede their CRD numbers with the letters “CRD,” as instructed. To be clear, you must input “CRD:” before the number for your CRD number to show up on a FinPro transcript.  The same is true for your  CFP and CIMA credentials. If you're a C F P and want us to upload credits to CFP Board for you, then simply input the designation, CFP, followed by your CFP number as is shown below. 

NASAA 2025 IAR CE Transcripts 

Once you complete a class, Advisors4Advisors updates FinPro, CFP Board, and IWI databases once a week. New class completions also uploaded within a few hours of live classes, too. FinPro usually takes a day to reflect provider updates, sometimes two.

Use Your IARD Name

The exact same name you used to register with the IARD should be used in your name in your Advisors4Advisors account profile. If you are missing credits from your IAR CE transcript in FinPro, make sure your first and last name is entered in Advisors4Advisors as it is on the IARD. If you are a John Smith, Jr,  add  ",Jr" to the last-name field on your Advisor4Advisors account profile.   

Shortened IAR CE Reviews  

In September 2025, NASAA's consulting firm changed an administrative policy by shortening the time it takes for providers to receive a Course ID.  NASAA will review classes in 30 calendar days,  shortening it from 30 business days. That effectively reduces the time it takes for a class to appear in FinPro transcripts by two weeks!    

How Does NASAA's 30-Day Review Stack Up Versus CFP Board And NASBA? 

A 30-day wait for a review by NASAA contrasts poorly with NASBA, which requires no waiting for CPA CPE approvals and CFP Board's policy of three-to five business days. With NASBA, once a provider submits the course, it is approved. NASAA in the past has changed its administrative policies to better align IAR CE requirements with those of CFP Board, IWI, and NASBA/AICPA. When initially introduced in 2022, NASAA rules required IARs pass assessments to earn credit on live classes as well as on-demand webinars. In 2024, to bring uniformity with professionals, NASAA changed the policy and stopped requiring assessments on live classes. NASAA announces changes in its administrative policies in an annual IAR CE Program Handbook.           

How Will NASAA's New Administrative Policy Affect IARs?

IA Reps who hold a CFP, CIMA or CPA and are subject to the model CE rule may want to wait to take a class until it is approved by NASAA, as well as CFP Board and NASBA to avoid taking the class twice. Time will tell whether NASAA review will come sooner than 30 calendar days in the future. Of about 30 courses submitted in the past year, some took a couple of weeks to review; others 30 over a month. Generally, a two week waiting period seems realistic but only time will tell.     

NASAA Course ID Numbers              

While not required by NASA, Advisors4Advisors has begun posting course IDs atop class descriptions because it's proof a class is approved for credit by NASAA. Why? Because NASAA's October 2025 policy change elevated the importance of Course IDs. Only IAR CE courses that have been issued Course IDs can be offered to advisors by NASAA-approved IAR CE providers.  

Take The Best NASAA 2025 IAR CE Class
